Teaching

Dr. Enz teaches a university-wide course on innovation. H ADM 443 - Innovation and Dynamic Management explores the process of innovation by examining the ways in which business and management practices may be altered to respond to dramatic changes in global commerce, culture, technology, and social values. Professor Enz also teaches a course in strategic management (HA401) that includes the development of business plans. Students in this required strategy course compete with each other for a cash prize provided by industry judges to evaluate the business plans.

Research

Dr. Enz has published over forty journal articles, book chapters, and two books in the areas of strategic management and human resources. Her latest book, co-authored with three marketing professors, American Lodging Excellence: The Key to Best Practices in the U.S. Lodging Industry was published in the summer of 1999 by the American Hotel and Motel Association. This book represents the findings from a comprehensive study of best practices and features over 140 cases of excellence.

Other Activities

In addition to teaching graduates and undergraduates she presents in numerous executive programs in Europe, Asia, and Central America. Dr. Enz consults extensively in North America and serves on the Board of Directors of two privately owned hotel companies.
