Professor Timmons previously developed a new course, Engineering Entrepreneurship: Management & Ethics, during his first term as an Entrepreneurship@Cornell Professor. The course has been well received and attracts approximately 100 students each spring term. During Timmons' 2nd term, he will develop a textbook, "Engineer as Entrepreneur", that will support the class. The focus of the course is on the entrepreneurial startup process with an emphasis on angel investors. Professional ethics, pro forma analysis, business management and engineering economics are the major topics of the class. Timmons uses his first-hand entrepreneurial experience of having started a fish production business (tilapia) that used both angel and venture capital investors to launch and expand. The business founded in 1996 is currently the 3rd largest indoor fish farm in the United States.
