Nancy Clark is the owner and designer of Clark Design Group and the owner along with her husband, J. Thomas Clark, of the Old Chatham Sheepherding Company, which is the largest sheep dairy and creamery in North America. Nancy's two businesses are on the farm in Old Chatham, New York. The farm has 850 milking ewe along with replacement animals rounding out to approximately 1200 sheep. The animals are raised on 600 organically maintained pastures in Columbia County, New York. Mrs. Clark is a current member of Cornell University Council, former chairman and current member of the Campus Life Committee and a former member of the Annual Meeting Planning Committee, the Committee on Trustee Nominations and past co-chairman with her husband of the National Tower Club. Nancy served three terms on the Human Ecology Advisory Council and currently is on the Human Ecology Advancement Committee. During the last campaign, Nancy served on the Special Gifts, Human Ecology, Campus Life and City Campaign Committees. Since 1992, Nancy has been a member of the Presidents Council of Cornell Women, serving recently as the chairman of the Meeting Planning Committee. Nancy is a Vice-President of the Class of 1962, co-chairing its 15th and 30th Reunion campaigns. Nancy founded the Human Ecology Design and Environmental Analysis Advisory Council. Nancy and her husband are founders of the J. Thomas Clark Professorships in the Entrepreneurship@Cornell Program across the campus, selecting outstanding Professors to try a new approach to entrepreneurship in class. The professors are given a stipend to initiate their ideas which hopefully will then be funded by their colleges after the initial start-up period. Approximately 20 professors have been awarded this honor to date. For the past ten years, Nancy has been the President of the House Corporation of Kappa Kappa Gamma on Cornell's Campus. She serves on the Fraternity and Sorority Advisory Committee. Nancy serves on the CAAN committee currently and has for the past forty years. |
