Mr. Karangelen is a Principal in the New York office of TowerBrook Capital Partners (www.towerbrook.com), a global private equity firm with over $2.5 billion of capital under management. Previously, Mr. Karangelen was a Principal at Brera Capital Partners, a private equity firm in New York. Before joining Brera, Mr. Karangelen was a Vice President at Stolberg Partners, a private equity firm in Denver, and he served as Director of Business Development for one of Stolberg Partners' portfolio companies, Advanced Telecommunications, Inc., an integrated communications services company. Mr. Karangelen has also worked in the investment banking divisions of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and S.G. Warburg in both New York and London. Michael has served as a member of several private company boards of directors, including ATI, GAB Robins (www.gabrobins.com), 2-10 HBW (www.2-10.com), IronPro (www.ironshore.com ), Western Industries (www.westernind.com ), Anaheim Manufacturing (www.anaheimmfg.com ), and Freedom Plastics. While a student at Cornell, Mr. Karangelen worked for Student Agencies, Inc. (www.studentagencies.com). Founded in 1894, Student Agencies, a private company based in Ithaca, NY, is the oldest student-run corporation in the United States. During his three years at Student Agencies, he held the positions of Manager of the Refrigerator Rental Business, Vice President of Business Development, and President. Mr. Karangelen holds a B.A. (1990) from the College of Arts & Sciences at Cornell University. He is a Trustee of the Student Agencies Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Student Agencies, Inc. He also serves on the Cornell College of Arts & Sciences Advisory Council. |
